Understanding more about the Brazilian Power Market
As a member of the C5 committee of CIGRE Australia, EMC is pleased to invite industry experts from CIGRE Brazil, Carlos Dornellas and Alexandre Viana, to share about the state of the Brazilian Power Market. It was extremely insightful to hear how Brazil, a country with one of the cleanest energy mix in the world, is continuing to evolve the market to meet industry’s needs. Almost 45% of the primary energy demand is made up of renewables, with large hydropower plants accounting for around 80% of domestic electricity generation.
EMC also shared about the market structure and reform process of the Singapore electricity market, and recent regulation changes and energy transition ambitions adopted in Singapore.
We appreciate the knowledge exchange with our Brazilian counterparts and look forward to more opportunities to share insights with partners around the world.
