An Inclusive Movie Outing with MINDS
On 10 April, EMC volunteers accompanied clients from the MINDS Community Hub (Kebun Baru) (MINDS CHKB) to GV Yishun for a special screening of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Recognising that standard cinema environments can be overwhelming, the team ensured the experience was fully inclusive by keeping the theatre lights partially dimmed so that the clients could enjoy the movie comfortably. Volunteers also remained close throughout the screening, ensuring that the clients had a fun and memorable trip to the theatre. We look forward to many more shared adventures with MINDS CHKB.
NEMS Industry Outing for Child at Street 11
Our annual National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS) Charity Activity brought the wider industry together for a meaningful day out. A total of 33 volunteers representing eight market participants f hosted 43 children from Child at Street 11 at Gardens by the Bay.
The group thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful floral displays in the Flower Dome and the immersive Jurassic World exhibition at the Cloud Forest, before gathering at the Jurassic Nest Food Hall for a well-deserved lunch.
NEMS market participants have proudly supported Child at Street 11 since 2006For two decades, this collaboration has allowed the centre to provide quality early childhood education and holistic care to vulnerable children in the Ang Mo Kio community.
